Title: One-dimensional Local Families of Complex K3 Surfaces
Speaker: Riccardo Carini and Francesco Viganò
Abstract: We are interested in investigating the behaviour of the Néron-Severi group in a family of K3 surfaces: we will introduce the Noether-Lefschetz locus and present several examples of variation of the Picard rank in families (we will explain all these words). We will show that every K3 surface admits a one-dimensional deformation in which all integers between 0 and 20 occur as Picard numbers of some fibres, despite the generic one-dimensional local family has only Picard numbers 0 and 1.
Some snacks will be provided before and after the talk.
