The seminar will be given remotely, but we will stream it in Huxley 711C for those who want to watch in person.
General Fusion is pursuing a novel magnetised target fusion (MTF) scheme where a helicity injected plasma is compressed via pneumatic pistons. Historically, General Fusion utilised few simulation tools to understand and diagnose the plasma which were created. In recent years, simulation efforts have been ramped up to help design and understand future devices that are planned. These tools ranges from full device modelling to stability analysis and more. In this talk, General Fusions proposed fusion scheme and the state of present/future experiments are introduced. Furthermore, a high-level introduction to our current modelling capabilities and the ongoing research using these tools will be given.
