Message from Kam Cheng to Mechanical Engineering class of 1974
Dear Mechanical Engineering class of 1974,
How half a century flies!!! Many of us will be scattered around the world. I myself moved to Perth, Western Australia.
A 50-year reunion for our class has now been arranged for 17.00 on Friday 26 April in the Alumni Visitor Centre on the South Kensington campus.
There is no better occasion to share some of what we have been up to since we all shouted “boomalaka, zingalaka, oi, oi oi” in our C&G days.
Reunion schedule – 26 April
16.30: Bob, Doug and Paul arrive to the Alumni Visitor Centre to setup (Kamy will be there beforehand)
17.00: arrivals – meet, greet and catch up on those bygone 50 years!
18.00: WhatsApp call with any fellow alumni who cannot be physically present
19.00: food and drinks ordered via Imperial campus catering (we all contribute towards the cost of catering)
21.30: end of event and tidy up of the centreDuring the event we plan to have a WhatsApp video call for those who cannot make it in person. A WhatsApp group has already been created to help the class stay in touch, reach out if you would like to join.
Even if you cannot take part on this occasion, we would still like to hear back from you! Behind the scenes we are trying to put as many of our year as possible in touch with each other. You can choose to share your contact details with myself only, or I can share your details with specific classmates. We are already in touch with some of our classmates whom the college is not. Through friends of friends, we hope to expand our reunion group further and maybe even celebrate the 55-years when it arrives.
Best wishes,
Kam Cheng
(Or Kamy as commonly called)
