Net Zero Event

Building a resilient Imperial – our decarbonisation plan for our Campuses

Abstract

Along with Arup consultants, we have produced a comprehensive decarbonisation pathway which adopts a considered approach guided by industry best practice. The Study covers over 131 Buildings across all Campuses including Hospital sites and Silwood Park.

Our goal? To achieve net zero carbon by 2040 through energy efficiency interventions that reduce building energy demand, followed by electrified heat generation to remove fossil fuels.

Decarbonisation is the first step in our wider Sustainability Strategy, and in this informative session, attendees will learn about the developed programme, the tCO2e impacts of the operational carbon to reach net zero and have a chance to ask questions.

Panel:

  • Professor Tim Green, Academic Leader of Sustainability (Chair)
  • Tessa Brunette, Project Director, Arup
  • Peter Bull, MEP & Energy Lead, Arup
  • Mark Wilkinson, Sustainability Manager, Property and Major Projects
