Dr. Jonathan Rosser works at the intersection of climate science and economics at the London School of Economics in the Grantham Research Institute. As part of the ClimTip Horizon project, he researches the economic impacts of climate tipping points as well as the use and design of climate model ensembles for decision-making.

Hosted by the Jenny Nelson group, Dr. Rosser joins us at Imperial on the 19th of February at the Blackett laboratory and online to share an exciting talk on his research, and to take questions from the audience. He will be available from 15:00 to meet Imperial researchers ahead of the talk.

Description: Climate tipping points such as the collapse of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and the polar ice sheets are currently assessed to have a significant chance of tipping this century. This could potentially lead to large impacts on the global economy and human society. However, there are huge uncertainties in both the physical behaviour and economic impacts of these tipping points. This study aims to provide a holistic assessment of this uncertainty.

Researchers are welcome to come for a Meet and Greet from 15.00 at Blackett 741 to meet with Dr. Rosser
