Guillermo is a Chartered Civil Engineer with the ICE working as a Principal Maritime Engineer for Arup. He has 7 years of experience working on UK and international maritime projects both for Arup and previously for a different consultancy company. His experience includes the design of a wide range of coastal structures such as breakwaters, groynes, revetments or scour protections at most stages of a project from feasibility and concept design to detail design. Guillermo also has site supervision experience and has acted as Project Manager on various projects, including a feasibility study for a significant marina project and a coastal protection study in Egypt.
Guillermo will talk about Arup’s expertise in the maritime sector, highlighting the company’s capabilities and some of its most recent and relevant projects in the maritime and coastal sectors. Guillermo will then present the Rosetta Promontory Coastal Study, a recent study led by Arup which aims to reinstate the coastal erosion protection to the Rosetta Promontory, located in the northern coast of Egypt, at one of the discharges of the river Nile into the Mediterranean Sea.
