This CO2RE Hub hosted event celebrates the 4.5-year UKRI-funded GGR-D Programme, bringing together researchers and innovators with policymakers, businesses, NGOs, investors and others with an interest in greenhouse gas removal (GGR).
Innovation Day
Innovation Day is where ambition meets opportunity. We’re opening our doors to entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem builders who are driving the next wave of carbon removal innovation across the UK and beyond. This high-energy showcase will feature pitches from 10 to 15 of the most promising GGR startups, ranging from ambitious pre-seed teams to fast-scaling pre-Series B companies ready to make their mark on the climate tech landscape.
Your chance to join the UK’s pioneering CDR ecosystem awaits. Each selected startup will present their breakthrough solutions across the full spectrum of GGR pathways, from biochar and direct air capture to enhanced weathering, peatland restoration, and cutting-edge approaches yet to be commercialized. A world-class jury of climate investors, technologists, and policy experts will evaluate the presentations and select five standout ventures to join the UK’s first dedicated CDR Accelerator.

Please note: Innovation Day is part of a broader event taking place across three days at The Royal Institution, two of which are open for registrations (Day 1 is for GGR-D Programme staff and invitees only):
