This presentation explores the use of Reflective Portfolios (PFs) as a means of developing student autonomy, critical thinking, and personal engagement in language learning. At the Centre for Languages and Inter-Communication (CLIC), the PF has become a central pedagogical tool that encourages learners to document, evaluate, and take ownership of their language learning journey. By offering a flexible framework grounded in reflexivity, the PF supports diverse learner goals while promoting sustained, meaningful engagement with language learning. Drawing on practical experience from CLIC with a particular focus on feedback, the presentation will consider both the opportunities and challenges of implementing PFs within language courses in Higher Education.
