Help international artists AYLO and SECA get under the skin of White City and discover the neighbourhood’s DNA.
Wednesday 5 November, anytime between 12noon – 3pm
This event is open to all staff and students at Imperial College London.
Do you see echoes of your work at Imperial in the alchemy of the local workers who turned waste and clay into the building blocks of modern living? Or in the innovative use of materials that created the original White City? Were you drawn here into your career by watching Tomorrow’s World or Horizon that was broadcast from Television Centre?
Are you captivated by innovation like the founders of the Franco-British Exhibition and the millions of people who flocked there for inspiration, education and pleasure? Or are you looking at finding better ways for society to live like the pioneers behind the White City estate?
Connecting Imperial to its local neighbourhood, we want to find out what makes White City special and capture it on a new mural that will be the gateway to the campus at Stadium House.
Through drop-in workshops, AYLO and SECA will be discovering what makes White City unique in conversation with staff, students and researchers from Imperial alongside local residents and the wider White City community.
Come and join us and help bring White City together in a new artwork on Wood Lane.
