Short bio:
Professor Ir. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah is currently the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and a Professor in Transport Studies. Prior to his appointment at UPM, he served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) from March 2017 to April 2021. Earlier in his career, he held key leadership roles at USM, including Dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Director of the Engineering Campus.

Widely recognised as one of Malaysia’s leading experts in transport and road safety, Professor Farhan was a founding Commission Member of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and later served as its Interim Chairman until the commission was decommissioned. He also served as Director General of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) from 2008 to 2011, where he played a pivotal role in shaping national road safety strategies.

At UPM, Professor Farhan provides visionary leadership with a strong focus on food security and sustainable agricultural development. With the support of the UPM community and alumni, he has driven initiatives to position UPM as a globally competitive institution of higher learning. Notably, under his leadership, UPM introduced the Blueprint for Food Security and Agriculture for People, underscoring the university’s commitment to societal well-being and the advancement of Malaysia’s agricultural sector.
