Abstract
Aortic dissection is a unique condition that is the poor cousin of other cardiovascular diseases, but together patients, family members, clinicians and policy makers are changing the outlook for those with the condition. Increased funding has become available in the past few years with a large increase in the number of dissection specific studies being run. Patients and physicians have joined together to design and deliver research and education.
