Dr Kwasi Adusei-Fosu is a strategic science leader and internationally experienced plant pathologist who serves as Science Team Leader – Plant & Endophyte Technologies within the Resilient Agriculture Group at the Bioeconomy Science Institute (BSI), New Zealand. With research experience across New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom, Dr Adusei-Fosu brings a strong international perspective to plant health, biosecurity, sustainable agriculture, and innovation. His work spans forestry, pastoral agriculture, and horticulture, with a focus on developing science and technologies that strengthen plant resilience, productivity, and environmental sustainability. His expertise encompasses plant–microbe interactions, fungal and oomycete diseases, disease detection and management, biosecurity, epidemiology, and endophyte technologies. He is particularly focused on translating scientific knowledge and emerging technologies into practical solutions that address complex challenges facing agricultural and natural ecosystems. Dr Adusei-Fosu has received national recognition for his scientific and innovative contributions, including being a finalist for the Early Career Research Scientist category of the New Zealand Science Awards and receiving recognition through the KiwiNet Emerging Innovator Award.
