The Entrepreneur Masterclass series of events in the Department of Physics showcases the commercial journeys of successful physics-based innovators.
Each session will bring a leading entrepreneur to campus to share insights into a key aspect of taking deep-tech ideas from labs to market.
The next event will be on Tuesday 6th October at 5:30 pm in the Physics Level 8 Common Room. Refreshments will be provided.
The event is aimed at all staff, post-docs, and PhD and Masters students.
During this event, Dr Craig Tombling will take the audience on a journey from the lab to the marketplace and along the way discuss key steps and decision including:

Dr Tombling is currently COO at a Cambridge-based Lightcast Discovery. Craig joined a team of seven people in 2020, with cool technology and a need to raise funds. The team is now more than 80 strong and delivering microfluidic products into biotechs and pharma companies for single cell-based drug discovery.
Previously, Craig was at Agilent through acquisition of Cobalt Light Systems, a Raman spectroscopy company with products in pharmaceutical instrumentation and airport security. Craig is a Blackett Lab Physicists with a PhD in Digial Optics from UCL.
