Register now to join this event on Thursday 14 November:

The dual challenge facing the energy industry dictates that in light of continued global economic growth and rising prosperity, we have a responsibility to aid in the production of more energy while dramatically reducing carbon emissions. In order to conquer this massive challenge, the industry is calling for accomplished academics to work together and come up with solutions that can bring significant improvements in society.

Towards achieving this goal, the Imperial SPE committee is collaborating with BP to bring you an event that is focused on communicating the values that lie in pursuing a Doctoral research as the next step in your career.

We aim to demonstrate that a PhD can be a very rewarding career path, one where scholars have the freedom to work on something that truly interests them, while being able to contribute to solving issues in the scientific community and more importantly, society at large. It is through these curious, determined and intelligent innovators that new solutions are born, and then subsequently diffused through companies in the energy industry.

We will be having Professor Matt Jackson and a number of his PhD students for an informative session followed by refreshments on Thursday, 14 November at 12-2 PM. This is a chance for you to not only learn about the research that they are undertaking at the moment, but also ask any questions that you may have regarding Doctoral research, life as a PhD and everything in between. We look forward to seeing you and your bright minds then.
