Innovation and technology are developing at a rapid pace and healthcare is just one of the sectors benefiting from these changes. From the development of interactive surgical simulators to aid training, to the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics to improve diagnostics, patient care is becoming more efficient and effective. Hosted by the Imperial Women’s Network, this event will welcome four speakers who will each discuss innovation in their particular field of healthcare, and how this is benefiting the sector and the provision of care.

- Dr Jean Nehme, CEO and Founder of Touch Surgery
Jean is a surgeon, an academic and an entrepreneur after founding Touch Surgery. The Touch Surgery platform is an interactive surgical simulator for healthcare professionals; providing a realistic and detailed guide to every step of a procedure. Users can quickly learn surgery, instantly test their knowledge, and rehearse for surgery - Léa Yerevanian, Clinical Psychologist and Strategic Alliances Manager of Medopad
Léa has a background in clinical psychology and extensive experience working in the mental health space. She is currently working as a strategic alliances manager for a UK based startup in London called Medopad. This involves working with government bodies, ministries of health, key opinion leaders and stakeholders in the field of healthcare and medicine to focus on joint development opportunities and projects internationally. She is also currently working with research labs who are using artificial intelligence and data analytics to improve diagnostics, patient care and bridge inefficiencies in the healthcare sector. - Liz Shanahan, Non-Executive Director of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Liz is recognised as a global leader in Healthcare and Lifesciences. An extremely experienced, C-suite executive, with deep management, communications consultancy and executive coaching expertise. An eminent speaker and serial entrepreneur, Liz is one of the sector’s most experienced counsels she advises and coaches CEOs in many of the world’s leading organizations as CEO of Reconfiguration & Engagement Partners as well as many health & lifescience tech start-ups. - Amber Kennard, Director, Deloitte (Deloitte UK Health Innovation team)
Bio to follow - The event will be chaired by Ian Davies, motivational speaker, coach and consultant to innovative start up companies.
Training initially as an optometrist, Ian worked in the NHS, private practice, academia and university teaching before moving into research and development within the contact lens industry. In 1992 he joined Johnson and Johnson as they were rolling out the new concept of disposable contact lenses globally. Over a 26-year career with J&J, Ian worked at management board levels in marketing, sales force effectiveness, new business development, professional education, relations and development. He established and managed THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® to become the biggest provider of eyecare education across Europe & The Middle East.
