Overview
We are delighted to host the London Chemical Biology Symposium 2019 at the new Molecular Sciences Research Hub at the White City Campus of Imperial College London. This one-day event will showcase new advances in many aspects of chemical biology. Our fantastic line-up of speakers will highlight the range of world-class research happening at the major London scientific institutions and provide a forum for local networking and to catalyse new research collaborations.
It is our great pleasure to be hosting Professor Carolyn R. Bertozzi as our keynote lecturer. Prof. Bertozzi is the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Chemical and Systems Biology and, by courtesy, Professor of Radiology at Stanford University. She is an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Baker family Co-Director of Stanford ChEM-H (Chemistry, Engineering & Medicine for Human Health). Her ground-breaking foundational work on the development of bioorthogonal chemistry, Chemical Glycobiology and Immuno-oncology has been awarded with a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship, the Lemelson-MIT Prize, the Arthur C. Cope Award and many others. Prof. Bertozzi is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and, since 2018, the Royal Society as a ForMemRS.
