Come along to make art with guidance and support from a professional artist.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or have been making for years, these sessions will be tailored to your individual needs.

 

Open to anyone studying or working at Imperial College.

 

Resident artist Mindy Lee will be drawing and painting in SW7 Art Studio from 13:30 -15:00 and will be on hand to help you with your creative ventures.

 

Help offered with:

 

Practical issues (such as stretching canvas /paper, to what art materials and tools will best suit your practice)

 

Creative thoughts (such as how to develop an initial idea into a finished piece of art)

 

Context (suggesting other artists or source material for inspiration)

 

Creative feedback (constructive support on developing your own art practice, feedback on finished work and folio reviews)

 

Creative company (providing a friendly and stimulating environment in which to make art.)

 

Access

These open studio sessions are free and there is no need to book.

Please contact blythadmin@imperial.ac.uk with your Department and CID number if you are using the studio for the first time.

 

Finding the Studio

Room 153 Roderic Hill, ACE Building, South Kensington Campus

 

From the Sherfield building, level 2.

Turn right onto the main outdoor walkway through campus.

 

Enter the ACE Extension for Aeronautics. (on your left)

 

Walk up the stairs, past the ‘Chemical Engineering’ sign, through the doors and turn left (heading towards the aeronautics lecture Theatre 1)

 

Walk through the break out space and the green sofas heading towards ‘Computing’ sign.

 

Walk past the aeroplane mural and through the doors into, a quiet area with a blue floor.

 

Turn right, round the corner and through the doors.

 

Go up the stairs towards rooms 148a and 148b, turn right, just past the lockers.
