Description:
A symposium commemorating the centenary of the birth of Sir Derek H.R. Barton, Nobel Laureate. This event marks the centenary of the birth on 8th September 1918, of one of the greatest chemists of the 20th century, whose work continues to impact both academic and industrial research and development in the 21st century. Outstanding organic chemists will present plenary lectures and Dr Jeff Seeman (University of Richmond and Editor of the ACS Profiles, Pathways and Dreams: Autobiographies of Eminent Chemists) will share an interview video with Sir Derek reminiscing about his life.
