Head of Commercialisation, Faculty of Natural Sciences

Heather Barcombe serves as Head of Commercialisation for the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London, driving the translation of research discoveries into market-adopted technologies through industry collaboration, strategic licensing and spin-out formation. With a strong commercial mindset and scientist’s rigor, she is committed to realising innovations that benefit both stakeholders and society at large.

Before joining Imperial, Heather built industry-experience across innovation management roles at Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue—including external innovation leadership for EMEA and R&D pipeline management. She holds a First-Class Master’s in Biochemistry from University of Warwick, giving her a strong scientific foundation to complement her commercial acumen.
