AB - Growing demand for animal products caused by a growing population and improved living-standards also yields large quantities of manure constituting an eminent problem. Herbivore manure can be utilized as fertilizer or for biogas production, which, however, disregards the full potential of manure as feedstock for lignocellulosics. Thus, an integrated process combining biogas production and isolation of natural fibres next to providing fertilizer precursors would constitute a major leap forward.
