Laurent Segalen, Managing Partner and Founder, Megawatt-X

Laurent Segalen is the managing partner and founder of Megawatt-X, a London-based energy transition meta-platform that has listed more than 15GW of wind and solar transactions. He is an active investor in clean energy infrastructure, digital tools, and batteries. Former roles include Director at PwC, Fund Manager at Natixis/Mirova, and Managing Director of Clean Commodities at Lehman Brothers and Nomura. As a founding member of the GHG Protocol, Laurent co-invented the "Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3" emissions frameworks and assisted the European Commission in creating the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS). Laurent is a frequent speaker on global energy transition matters, was named the 2024 Renewable Energy Leader of the Year, and features in the top 20 of the 2026 US "Power100" list. Alongside his transaction work, he co-hosts the award-winning Redefining Energy podcast, covering the commercial realities of the clean energy shift.
