The teaching and learning of languages is a key activity within the Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication (CLCC) at Imperial College London.
Languages for undergraduates
- Language learning is open to Imperial undergraduates during their degree, through the Imperial Horizons and I-Explore programmes.
- Languages is one of the three Imperial Horizons fields of study, alongside the Change Makers and Humanities & Social Sciences fields.
- We offer 10 languages at a range of proficiency levels. Our modules are in depth: taught two hours per week for 20 weeks, in the Horizons teaching slots.

Languages as part of an undergraduate study abroad programme
- If you are undertaking an Imperial Year-in-Europe degree, your language classes will take place within the Horizons slot, with one additional hour's study per week.
- If you are enrolled on Language for Science degree, your language classes will take place within the Horizons slot, with two additional hours' study per week.

Languages for all
Languages are also taught as part of CLCC's Imperial after:hours programme, with up to 14 languages available to students, staff and the general public, in evening and daytime sessions.
