Apply for MRes Biomedical Research

The Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction is delighted to offer funding towards the MRes in Biomedical Research for a student commencing the programme in the 2026/2027 academic year.

Eligibility

The funding shall be available to a home or overseas fee status postgraduate student who is commencing their course of study in 2026-27. 

Funding

The funding is valued at £2,000 towards the  tuition fee rate for 2026-27. 

Eligibility criteria

  • To be eligible to apply for the funding you must be in receipt of an offer for the programme to commence in October 2026.
  • To receive the funding, you must have accepted the offer and have fulfilled all offer criteria.

Submission process

Once in receipt of an offer for the programme, please submit a statement covering the below criteria. 

The following three questions all carry equal weight. These are not ‘trick’ questions; we are interested in your honest responses to them. There are no right or wrong answers.

  1. Motivation
    Please tell us about an aspect of your academic, research or professional experience that you found especially exciting, enjoyable or challenging. How did this experience influence your decision to pursue further studies in science?

Evaluation process

  • All applications will be initially checked for eligibility
  • Applications will then be reviewed by the panel and evaluated
