NIHR Imperial Patient Experience Research Centre cancellation policy
Introduction
- The NIHR Imperial Patient Experience Research Centre (PERC) cancellation policy and guidance provides Early Career Researchers (ECRs), Imperial College staff and their departments with information about the required cancellation notice and how places on our masterclass can be cancelled. It also provides information about late cancellation/non-attendance fees.
- This policy is in place to ensure that attendees receive the best possible learning and development experience. It also supports PERC staff who work hard to prepare and deliver the session and ensures that waiting list places can be offered to other attendees in a timely manner.
- Participants are expected to attend for the full duration of a masterclass that they have registered for to avoid disruption to other participants. Leaving part way through, without good reason, is not acceptable and participants could be charged a cancellation fee.
Cancelling your place on a PERC masterclass
- The Public Involvement in Health Related Research Masterclass can be cancelled by emailing: publicinvolvement@imperial.ac.uk
- PERC will always be sympathetic to extenuating circumstances which impact your ability to meet the required cancellation notice period. We ask you to please let PERC staff know as soon as possible by emailing publicinvolvement@imperial.ac.uk
Cancellation notice periods
- The cancellation notice period set out below allows sufficient time for your place to be offered to another person on the waiting list.
- The following cancellation notice period applies:
- Half day courses (up to 3 hours) - a minimum of 5 working days’ notice
Cancellation & non-attendance fees
- If you do not cancel your place within the requisite cancellation notice period, or you fail to attend you will be charged the following fees:
- Half day course (up to 3 hours) - £50
- If you fail to show up to attend the masterclass more than once PERC may inform your line manager (for staff) or supervisor (for students).
Lateness and partial attendance
- You are expected to be on-time for the start of the masterclass and to stay until it finishes. If you arrive late (15 minutes or more) you will not be permitted entry and you will need to re-register to attend a later session, if it is offered at a later date. If you leave a session early without the agreement of the session's facilitator, you’ll be marked as not having completed the masterclass and you’ll need to re-register to attend the masterclass to complete it.
- Provided you have informed publicinvolvement@imperial.ac.uk that you will be more than 15 minutes late, and therefore withdrawing from the masterclass, you will not be charged a cancellation fee. If you would like to attend the masterclass in future, you will need to re-register.
