An exciting opportunity for blind students

As part of Google's commitment to diversity and to providing opportunities to students at all stages of their academic career, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Google Building Opportunities for Leadership & Development (BOLD) Immersion Programme - UK for all current students returning to a full-time degree program next year.

Up to 20 selected students will travel to Google's London office 7th - 10th September, 2011 for a unique opportunity providing participants with a rare glimpse into the technology industry, career opportunities at Google, and valuable professional and peer networks.

7th  - 10th  September 2011

How do I apply?

To apply, students must:

  • Be a current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree and returning to a full-time degree program this year
  • Demonstrate academic excellence in an arts, humanities, science, or business-related discipline
  • Be a current member or alumni of one of the following organizations:

ACS Project
Blind in Business
EmployAbility
Generating Genius 
Social Mobility Foundation
Pure Potential

Note - in the case of Blind in Business we are looking for blind and visually impaired individuals only.

The Deadline for application is the 28th  of July 2011. 

Please note that the application is a multi-step process, which will include a profile registration, general Google application, and BOLD Immersion application. The BOLD Immersion application consists of your CV, a short essay, and one reference from a professor or secondary school teacher, direct supervisor, or a mentor you have worked closely with in your school and community activities. All decisions will be communicated to applicants in mid-August.
