The Department of Earth Science and Engineering has ranked first in the National Student Survey for both student satisfaction and for employment prospects.
The Department of Earth Science and Engineering has ranked first in the National Student Survey for both student satisfaction and for employment prospects. The Department's was ranked top out of 42 Earth Science (Geology) departments that submitted surveys, obtaining 98% student satisfaction and 90% employment of graduates. Our employment rate for recently graduate students was 10% higher than any other institution, illustrating the standing of our graduates in industry. Ninety eight percent of our graduates participated in the survey.
The National Student Survey (NSS) is conducted annually and is run in all publicly funded HEIs in the UK. The survey asks final year graduates to provide feedback on their courses. There are 22 core questions relating to the student learning experience that include the quality of teaching, assessment and feedback, learning resources and overall satisfaction.
