Mr John R. Lawrence (Chemistry 1958)

After his degree, John Lawrence returned to the Bablake School in Coventry, where he had originally been a pupil, as a member of the teaching staff. Thousands of pupils benefited from his tuition throughout the many years he spent at the school. John held posts as Head of Chemistry, Head of Science and Head of Wheatley House.

Although he officially retired in 1995, John continued teaching chemistry part-time at the school for a further six years, and even continued as the school's archivist following this. 

John died on the 28 January 2007, aged 69. He leaves wife Vivien, sons Simon and Andrew and his grandchildren.
