Make me a star

Sergey Lebedev

From New Scientist

Experimental astrophysicists' toolboxes boast more than lasers. Sergey Lebedev [Physics] at Imperial College London and his team are using electrical currents to recreate the mysterious gaseous jets that young stars spew out into space for thousands of billions of kilometres... Their initial experiments have proved so promising that they have organised an international collaboration to investigate the workings of astrophysical jets. The hope is to reveal what has so far proved out of reach for computer modellers.
