Quantum Optics student wins NESTA FameLab

Nick Harrigan a student in the Quantum Optics group won NESTA FameLab (a national competition to "discover the new voices of UK science and engineering"), presenting an explanation of how microwave ovens work at the live final on Saturday night at the Cheltenham Science Festival. Nick wins a prize of £2000, a 2-week internship with Channel 4, and will undertake a tour of international events.
