WOMEN IN MINING: Education Event - Wednesday 9 November 2011
What’s hot this season in the world of mining.
Just like certain looks dominate the seasons in fashion, the mining industry develops trends as technology and knowledge improve, commodity prices surge or recede and economies evolve. For students or recent graduates planning their first career move, it is as important to understand those trends as it is to identify the key interests that will drive their professional choices.
For this third Education Event, Women in Mining (WIM) (UK) has put together a great panel of speakers who will provide an overview of the trends across the many disciplines that make up the mining industry, and insight into the career options within their sector. Attendees will also have the opportunity to mingle with likeminded students and WIM members, who work in a variety of professions and businesses all relevant to the mining industry, providing the perfect occasion to find out what a career in mining is really like.
Date: Wednesday 9 November 2011
Time: 18:00 — 21:00
Venue: Deloitte - Stonecutter Court, 1 Stonecutter Street, London, EC4A 3TR
RSVP: Jessica Pendal at jpendal@vsacapital.com
Places are limited so please RSVP before 7 November 2011.
We hope to see many students, recent graduates, faculty and WIM members at this important event, so please circulate this information to any women who may be interested.
Please note that WIM (UK) events are currently reserved for women.
The UK network of Women in Mining is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the employment, retention and professional development of women in the mining and minerals sector. This group was created in 2006 and now includes over six hundred members representing a variety of mining-related businesses and professions. Membership is free and open to all women in the mining industry, wherever they work: the majority of members are based in the United Kingdom or continental Europe.
