Volleyball Festival
The Imperial College Volleyball Club held a Volleyball Festival officially supported by Volleyball England on Sunday the 9th of October in Ethos Sports Centre.
For 4 hours on Sunday afternoon 42, mostly recreational, players enjoyed the extensive training session under the supervision of an official coach.

The whole depth of volleyball was covered. After a volleyball specific warm-up and stretches, the basic techniques of volleyball, pass, volley, hit, float serve were covered, including a lot of drawn from life comparisons, such as “volley the ball gently, use soft hands and imagine the ball was your boyfriend or girlfriend”. The long day ended with a short tournament, where the focus was on the rotation system and positioning on the court for the different players, “setter”, “middle”, “outside” and “opposite”. The punishment for losing a game up to 10 points was 10 push-ups. Some teams had to do additional sets of collective 10 push-ups for reception errors or not calling the ball “mine, mia”.

The volleyball festival was a successful day of getting into volleyball and further extend the squad of the Imperial College Volleyball teams.
