JSPS Summer Programme 2012

Providing opportunities for UK young pre- and post-doctoral researchers to receive an orientation on Japanese culture and research systems and to pursue research under the guidance of host researchers.

The JSPS Summer Programme is implemented as a component of the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers. 

Awards include international travel and an allowance to cover room and board for the duration of your stay in Japan.

All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are included under this program. The candidate must either be majoring or conducting research in a related field.

Programme

  • The first week of the programme is dedicated to an orientation session on Japanese language, culture and research systems conducted by the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI)
  • Internships or cooperative research opportunities are then provided at scientific research institutions such as university laboratories

Duration is 12 June to 22 August 2012
