New PhD studentships announced

The Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI) is pleased to announce the next round of PhD Studentships to start in September 2012

 The IGHI aims to contribute to improved health and the reduction of health inequalities in developed and developing countries. The closing date for applications for up to four PhD Studentships is 4 March 2012.

The PhD Programme is open to UK/EU and overseas students. The funding is for three years and covers both fees and living expenses. Ideal candidates will have research interest in the following areas:

Centre for Health Policy:

  • Comparative health system performance
  • Evaluation of innovative health system reforms
  • Behavioural economics

The Hamlyn Centre:

  • Pervasion Sensing Technologies
  • Imaging and Robotics
  • Design in Healthcare

Gut Health:

  • Co-dependency of the gut microbiota and human metabolism
  • Integration of metabolic profiles with faecal metagenomics
  • Either analytical spectroscopy or multivariate statistics
