Cloaking' a 3D object from all angles demonstrated

Researchers have "cloaked" a three-dimensional object, making it invisible from all angles, for the first time... Now, Andrea Alu and colleagues at the University of Texas at Austin have pulled off the trick in "free space", making an 18cm-long cylinder invisible to incoming microwave light... Ortwin Hess [Physics], Professor of metamaterials at Imperial College London, said the work was a 'very nice verification that this approach works.
