A Black Hole Brings New Starts to Life
Forbes Magazine
Using images from the Hubble Space Telescope, astrophysicists at the Imperial College in London have spied something remarkable - a black hole whose gravitational forces aren't tearing apart old stars, but are rather helping to build new ones. 'Black holes may have a significantly more complicated effect on the universe than scientists previously thought they did,' said lead researcher Dr Sugata Kaviraj [Physics] in a press release. 'We knew that the outflows produced by black holes could remove gas and quench star formation but few imagined that they could somehow help the birth of completely new stars.
