Who is Frontrunner for?
This Frontrunner is for disabled university students over the age of 18 who want to improve their capacity to lead. You need to be able to demonstrate that you’ve lead before in any forum – at school; university; work; sport; a club or society; a religious group; or even with your friends.

“This course was extremely rewarding for me, it gave me opportunities to practice leadership, network with extraordinary people from a diverse range of backgrounds and share my experiences with like-minded people. You will come away from the course with a new found inspiration and attitude towards life.” Sam Dunlop, University of Bournemouth

What happens on the course?
On Frontrunner we’ll take you beyond the classroom into the local community. You’ll have the opportunity to visit local and international businesses, public sector bodies and community groups.

During the four days you will:

  • understand what it means to lead, using the experience of others
  • improve your ability to ask questions that get you the answers you need
  • test your leadership skills through applied practice
  • practice working collaboratively
  • learn to give and receive constructive feedback

“Frontrunner was a perfect course for me, I learnt so much and it really gave me the confidence I need to start making steps into the world of activism and campaigning. I gained the knowledge I need to start the things I’ve really wanted to do, and most importantly a group of talented friends to support me along the way. It quite literally changed the course of my life and I’m proud to have had the chance to go.” Hannah-Rebecca Joy Guscoth, University of Reading

Who could you meet?
Participants on Frontrunner have met leaders from organisations such as:
