Professor Bill Lee delivered the IOM3 Ceramics Society Mellor Memorial Lecture on 25 April 2012

Bill gave the IOM³ Ceramics Society Mellor Memorial Lecture at the University of Surrey 25 April 2012 entitled: Structural Ceramics for Extreme Environments. The lecture commemorates the work of Joseph William Mellor FRS (1869-1938) who was the leading ceramist of his time holding positions such as Director of the British Refractories Research Association and Director of the Pottery Manufacturers’ Association. He wrote the 16 volume treatise on Theoretical and Inorganic Chemistry (published from 1927-37, copies are still kept in the College library!).
