Dr. Aruna Sivakumar has won a competitive bid to host the 14th International Conference on Travel Behaviour Research (IATBR 2015) in London, jointly with Stephane Hess of ITS, Leeds. “The International Association for Travel Behaviour Research (IATBR) is an international group of the top academics, practitioners and public servants from over 20 different countries dedicated to the advancement of travel behaviour research. The organization aims to serve as a forum that brings together professionals from a wide range of disciplines interested in the study of the factors that influence activity and travel choices of people and businesses, the formulation of new computational and analytical modelling methods and approaches for forecasting activity-travel demand, and the analysis of the land use and transportation impacts of a wide range of socio-economic, public policy, and modal scenarios” (http://iatbr.weebly.com/). The association has been active for nearly forty years and in this time has organised twelve international conferences on the topic, across five different continents. The thirteenth conference was held in Toronto in July this year. The 14th conference will be hosted in London, in July/August of 2015 and is tentatively captioned ‘Transitions in a Digital World’.
