RSC Faraday Discussion 161 on ‘Lipids and Membrane Biophysics’, organised by Professor John Seddon of the Chemistry Department and Dr. Calum Drummond, CSIRO, Melbourne,  was held  at Burlington House, London from 11^th – 13^th September 2012. In addition to a dozen staff and students from the Chemistry Department, there were 170 participants from as far afield as Brazil, Malaysia, China, Japan and Australia.
