Tanaka Business School faculty member wins top women's honour in Portugal
Dr Catarina Sismeiro , lecturer in marketing at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London, has just been awarded the Premio D. Antonia Adelaide Ferreira prize for her stellar academic research.
The award is granted by the descendents of D. Antonia and the company A.A. Ferreira, A.A., one of the oldest and most prestigious houses of Port Wine, and honours women who have excelled in their area of work and have contributed positively for the image of Portugal world-wide.
Previous recipients of this award have excelled in the area of business or research, and Dr. Sismeiro is no exception. This is just the latest of many prizes she has won for academic excellence in her work on consumer behaviour and marketing. Her areas of expertise include the use of the internet for purchases and the effects of pharmaceutical marketing techniques on physicians. In 2003, she was awarded the Paul E. Green Award from the American Marketing Association. She also won the Scientific Excellence Award from ADMES/MARKTEST in 2005
