EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Civil Engineering
32 PhD studentships fully funded by EPSRC
We are pleased to announce that our proposal to create a new Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Civil Engineeringg has been funded. The grant of £3.7m from EPSRC provides us with 32 PhD studentships fully funded by EPSRC.
Additional studentships and Centre resources will be funded by industry partners. The first cohort of these PhD students will arrive in October of this year.
Our bid involved several of our academic staff led by Professor Chris Cheeseman who will be the Director of the Centre.
This is one of 10 CDTs awarded to the College, the most for any university. Members of our Department are also involved in 5 other new Doctoral Centres - Fluid Dynamics, Nuclear Engineering, Oil and Gas, Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet (NERC funded, led by our Grantham Institute) and Water (a renewal, led by Cranfield).
