Professor David Balmforth

Next President of the Institution of Civil Engineers

Professor David Balmforth has been officially elected the next President of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and will assume the role in November. David is currently Vice-President of ICE and is a Visiting Professor in the Department, attached to the Environmental and Water Resource Engineering Section (EWRE). David has been associated with the Department since 1999, initially as an honorary research fellow and then Visiting Professor. Among his many contributions to the Department he chairs the Industrial Advisory Board for the MSc Environmental Engineering courses.
