Read a selection of this year's postersTanaka Business School's annual Research Fest has proved yet another resounding success, with excellent feedback from all participants. Each year, the School encourages its research faculty to come together and celebrate the extent of their activities in a lively and informal setting.
Held over two days, the first afternoon focused on the needs of research staff; career development and how to secure funding for research activities, both essential areas for new researchers and faculty. The concluding day focused on the breadth of the School’s research activities, with presentations and poster sessions allowing everyone the opportunity to see and discuss their work with their peers.
In addition to highly practical workshops on career development, teaching skills and funding proposal development, much of the appeal of the event is the opportunity of seeing new and more-established faculty members presenting their work and explaining their research interests. This year saw presentations from each of the School’s three faculty groups (Finance and Accounting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Organisation and Management).
Tim Venables, Strategic Research Manager for the School, was delighted to see "links emerging in unexpected research areas, between different faculty groups and also between Tanaka Business School and the research activities in the college in general". The event was then rounded off by a delicious Indian buffet!
