Keynote Lecture

Athens 2014 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management, 12-14 June

Professor Stephen Smith presented a Keynote lecture to the Athens 2014 2^nd International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management, 12-14 June. The Keynote paper (Athens 2014 ABC Food Waste Collection) focussed on the issues surrounding the source separation of food waste and offered a possible strategy to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of separate food waste collection systems. He also presented a second paper  (Athens 2014 Wet and Dry AD) to the meeting critically comparing the wet and dry anaerobic digestion of food and biodegradable municipal solid waste. He was co-chair, with Florian Amlinger from the European Compost Network, of the conference session on Composting and also sat on the Closing Panel.
