We are delighted to announce the winners of the City & Guilds College Association & Old Centralians’ Trust, Student Activity Awards. They are:

Mr Peter Nugent, Third Year UG - awarded the John Sowden Award *
(*Commemorating an engineering Alumni) and Mr Dominik Sznajder, Third Year UG.

Both students were active representatives of CivSoc this year.
Peter was LIVIC Editor (the magazine of CivSoc).  Peter wrote articles covering a wide-range of topics, interviewed a number of representatives from Industry / PhD & Graduate students, and produced his own crosswords.  He re-designed the LIVIC website to enable members of staff and students to read the current and past editions of LIVIC online. Outside the department, he is the Sponsor Secretary of Imperial College Union Affiliated Football Club (ICUAFC) which has over 150 members.

Dominik was the International Tour Officer who worked hard throughout the year to secure sponsorship for CivSoc and the tour to Budapest, which was a great success owing to his professionalism and organizational ability.   Outside the department, he is Secretary of RailSoc, and was responsible for organizing evening talks for the members, including site visits.    He is next year’s new Chairman of CivSoc.

We highly commend them both on their awards.
