Celebratory Centenary Dinner in Sydney

Alumni in Sydney gathered for a special Centenary dinner, with Imperial Ambassador, Professor Mary Ritter - 9 August 2007

Throughout 2007, Imperial College London is staging a year-long celebration of its Centenary with an exciting programme that includes visits by world-renowned Imperial academics to our alumni groups, under the College's new International Ambassador Scheme. Further details about the scheme can be found at www.imperial.ac.uk/alumni/ambassadors.

As part of this programme, the New South Wales Alumni Association held a successful dinner event in Sydney, attended by 45 alumni and 23 guests. Imperial Ambassador Professor Mary Ritter, Pro Rector for Postgraduate and International Affairs, was also present at the dinner, and gave an interesting and entertaining talk on College news and the Centenary, as well as some insight into her research specialisation. The talk stimulated many questions from the audience.

The Association was pleased to have such a good attendance, and in particular, to have three alumni who started their undergraduate years at Imperial College, 67 years ago, all looking remarkably young in these photos (see below). The Association looks forward to seeing them at many future alumni functions!
