Prize for best oral presentation awarded to CMBI PhD student
Kimberley Painter, a 3rd year PhD student with Dr Andy Edwards, was awarded the prize for best oral presentation at the Florey Institute Symposium.
Congratulations to Kimberley Painter who was awarded the prize at the 2014 Florey Institute Postgraduate Symposium held at the Florey Institute, University of Sheffield, on 26 September.
Kim’s talk, entitled ‘Persistence in whole blood by small colony variants of Staphylococcus aureus’, described how slow-growing mutants of S. aureus known as small colony variants are able to survive in human blood.
