DoC Reader awarded Houssay Prize 2015

Dr Sebastian Uchitel is the recipient of the Houssay Prize 2015 presented by the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.

Dr Sebastian Uchitel was presented with the Houssay Prize 2015 at the Argentine Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The prize is the most important distinction in Argentina for researchers under the age of 45, and recognises individuals with outstanding contributions to science that have contributed to the development of science and technology in Argentina. Sebastian was awarded the prestigious prize in the Category “Physics, Maths and Computer Science”.

Sebastian obtained his PhD at the Department of Computing and stayed on as a Lecturer to become Reader in Software Engineering in 2008. He continues to do research in the Department but now also leads a research group at University of Buenos Aires. The award recognises his work on automated techniques to support synthesis, verification and validation of complex software systems, in particular in the areas of service oriented architectures, component based systems and adaptive systems.
