We're thrilled to be named a GiveWell "top-charity" for a fifth consecutive year. A unique position we are extremely proud to hold.

GiveWell recommends SCI as an organisation that “offers donors an outstanding opportunity to accomplish good with their donations”. They indorse SCI because of our:

  • Strong programmatic track record and repeatedly demonstrated success at starting and expanding national deworming programmes
  • Excellent cost-effectiveness
  • Room for more funding

During 2014-15 funds raised from individual donors were used to expand programmes and deliver more treatments in Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, DRC, Ethiopia, Liberia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen and Zanzibar.

There’s still lots to do!

During 2015-16 we are committed to continuing to provide this additional financial support to the aforementioned countries as well as increase support significantly in Madagascar and Sudan. In addition, SCI has set an ambitious fundraising target of USD9.5 million to be reached by April 2016, to start work in Nigeria, in collaboration with SIghtsavers. The aim is to fill the current treatment gap and deliver 300 million treatments by 2019.

Please help us to reach, treat and protect the future of Africa from these crippling diseases of poverty (http://bit.ly/sci-donate-online)
