Professor Will Knottenbelt Director of the new Imperial College Centre for Cryptocurrency Research and Engineering (IC3RE) featured on the BBC
DoCs Prof. Will Knottenbelt, has been busy in the media, talking about the new Imperial College Centre for Cryptocurrency Research and Engineering (IC3RE), cryptocurrencies, and their future potential.
Prof Knottenbelt said:“We are on the brink of the next digital revolution. The College is in a unique position to harness the potential of the technology that currently powers cryptocurrencies. Just as the industrial revolution and the internet spawned innovation, so too will this technology, opening the doors for new business models to be developed and helping existing companies improve the way they do business and the way communities live their lives.”

Prof. Knottenbelt was featured on the BBC programme Click on the 5th December, where he used the Data Science Institute’s Data Observatory to show the workings of financial transactions using the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Will was also interviewed live on BBC World Service News this week.
